got mine today and sadly it doesn't work on the pre 1995 cars but I tested it on 1996 to 2001 with 16 pin OBD II ( EOBD ) and wow it does the job

I believe they sell an adapter for pre 1996 cars.

 

I can confirm the other one works on the older cars but you do need the adaptor

ON THE OLDER VEHICLE HOW MANY WIRES WAS THERE ON THE 2X2 ?
IF THERE ARE 3 WIRES IT WILL WORK , IF IT HAS 2 IT WONT .

 

there are 4 actually +/ -/ K/ L which is all the system requires
