DO I need the extend warrenty for $4,000
Hi just got an 05 A4 1.8, I really love this car, but the car has 45K miles on it, and the current warrenty runs out at 50K, I spoke w/ an Audi Dealership and they offerd an extended warrenty for 4K. Do I really need to spend the money? Also I just got a little dent on the right side near the back tire, it's about 6 inchs long and needs a little paint how much should something like this cost ?

yeah $4,000 is a LOT of money for a warranty. You can have a lot of things go wrong and hire an independent mechanic and still not spend anywhere near $4 G's. In 25K you're gonna have to spend like $800-900 on the timing belt, and the dealer wouldn't even cover this under warranty unless the thing breaks on you. If it does, they'll cover the repair, but your car won't ever run the same again!
Warranties are basically 100% pure profit for dealers, FYI. And 45K on your car...it hasn't even been broken in yet!

Well even if you find a warranty company online and deal direct youll still have to fight to get anything covered(loophole)Theyll tell ya this isnt covered or that isnt covered,And youll still wind up spending money on crap you though WAS covered...One big headache....
Just think of all the GOODIES 4 grand will get ya for your toy..Uhh i mean car

I'm assuming that for that price its an "exclusionary" (bumper to bumper) one? There are inclusionary ones (only named parts covered) for about half of that. I got one of those just to avoid being nickel and dimed to death and I'm a dad so my free time is limited. Mine has about the same miles as yours. I looked for a warrantycomp that was fairly reputable, paid for repairs immediately (not reimbursed), and included parts that I saw broke on these the most. If you want to go this route, research your model and see what goes wrong with it the most then pick your poison so to speak lol.
Its a gamble either way.
