I have a 2015 AUDI Q5 2.0T QUATTRO. Our dog chewed the main MMI knob off and also got the center armrest lid a good chew too. I've been to AUDI and been quoted about $2000 to fix. I've seen many parts online and are unsure where to buy from any help with that is appreciated. Also once the parts are located i can't find any help on the web on taking the remaining knob off or how to install the center console lid. also not sure if i can just buy an aftermarket knob or do i need the MMI control unit in whole. My Q5 is a lease and I'll be trading it in soon. trying not to take a bath when i trade it in. Any help or advise is much appreciated thanks in advance!!!

Sure.. The stealer...er....dealer is going to quote $2000 for about $200 worth of parts. The knob, what's left of it, should just pull straight up and off the shaft in the center. The new one just presses on. The console pad has screws that are hidden under snap-on covers and should be easily removed. Determining how the snap-on cover comes off can be tricky. It looks to me that the flat plastic cover on the bottom of the console lid pops off somehow to all it to be unscrewed from the hinge plate. Once you get it off, you can take it to an upholstery shop for repair. A hell of lot cheaper than the stealer....er.....dealer.

Thx! arm rest came off as you stated. knob was a little more tricky. had to cut around the joystick with snips and remove the broken parts. just waiting on my knob to arrive and i'll start calling around to some shops tomorrow to fix the armrest.
