Doors Wont Auto Lock After Flood
hello audi world, im new here, but have been registered for a while now.
I have a 1996 A4 With 165k miles on it. Runs amazing, Oil changes every 3k miles, and about to get the 165k maintenance done.
About 2 weeks ago there was massive raining in new york, and my car was parked ontop of a sewer and the water flooded my car inside and out. No engine damage, just cosmetic and electrical (Doors wont lock, airbags lights were blinking, etc)
Now the car has dried its selve out, my mecahnic put it in a bake room and let it realy dry out. Everything works fine now, EXCEPT my doors wont lock when i turn the key to lock them. They will not unlock either with the push of the unlock botton on the doors.
My mechanic checked the fuses everything was ok, he said he could re-do the electrical, but that would take time, and then money.
So he recomended i came online and asked around if anyone had any similiar problems, maybe there is a solenoid blown or something somewhere.
Hope someone can help me!

RE: Doors Wont Auto Lock After Flood
Your problem is more than likely a broken wire in the wiring loom that goes to the doors, due to the flood. Check the loom at the door hinge.

RE: Doors Wont Auto Lock After Flood
I would probably guess that your problem has something to do with the flooding, that is assuming they worked before the flood. I think it's going to be pretty difficult to just guess something online for this one, probably something your going to need to troubleshoot witha meter on your own.
