Hi I picked up a 2002 allroad 2.7 tt that has lost it's timing belt so i'm going to have to replace the engine.The word on the street is there are a few thing's I should do to the new mill before installing it like the timing belt, water pump and tensioner, rocker cover gasket's what else can you suggest to be a wise move.
Can anybody tell me what kind of turbo's it has on it k3 k4 k5, k76......
Performance chip's...good idea yes,no ?, if so who makes the good stuff, i'd love to be able to coax a little more performance out of her without spending a load, what's my best bet dollar's to horse power ratio.

 

Can't help you on the Turbo and Chip stuff but if you're going to do any preventative maintenance like you mentioned, it's 10 times easier with the engine out of the car. Go over it with a fine tooth comb and look for ANY signs of oil leakage and fix them. Might even look are replacing the crank seals front and back while you've got it apart.
