EPC light & locked in Park. 2006 A6. Need solution.

Thanx for your help!
Thank you so much for your reply mate!
In regards to my A6 the engine always starts, only sometimes with the EPC light coming on an leaving me locked in park. Got the workaround as mentioned.
Yesterday I also got a message in my dash stating that the right side brake light was broken, and needed a new bulb, but when I started it again this morning and ran a check on the car. The error was gone.
Do you think my issue may differ from yours?
In your view, do you see any problems/risks with using the car as is for a while, or should I park the car and get it sorted?

Trading it in
Thanx again for your swift reply.
To answer your question I was already considering trading in the A6 for a newer A5, so this is going to happen in the near future, but I feel I have to be open in regards to the cars issue if I want to trade it in.
This error came up just before I was going to start looking at A5s, and I feel it may be holding me back a little now.
I am in the situation now where I must consider getting this fixed before I trade in the car, or just trade it as is.
What would you advise me to do? Trade asap?

CVT Issue
I had posted similar symptom with my A6 2006 3.2. My performance shop tried many different approaches, hoping against hope that was not what it actually turned out to be. That's right the big one. My Transmission control unit had gone bad an need to be replace. With all the wonderful Audi engineering, someone decided to put the TCU inside the transmission where it can get nice and hot. I was told to expect to replace it every 60k-75K miles. It cost me about $3000 but there was a class action suit that actually got my money refunded. https://cvtsettlement.com/
