Default RE: Front Brakes

Not familiar with S4's, specifically, but I've done brakes on other Audi, Fiat's, Opel's, BMW's, Nissan's, Porsche's, Buick's, Chevy's, Pontiac's, and probably 6-7 other makes I can't recall, at the moment...

Feel/look around on teh back side of the caliper and you'll prolly find you have two fairly large bolts, one near the top and one near the bottom at pretty much teh same distance from each end (of the caliper). That being troo, I'd recommend loosening both, prior to removing them, bottom one first (at least, that's how *I* always do it). Remember to use a hunka rope, or wire, or sunthin, to *hang* the caliper from some upper suspension or chassis component, so you don't take teh chance of stressing the brake-line, or couplings, bt letting it dangle...

Hope that helped

Just remove the whole caliper and caliper bracket from the spindle. Its held on by two fairly large bolts. In the 18-22mm range.

haha, yea the HP-2 brakes suck. unbolt the caliper from the 2 large bolts, but move it just enough to get the rotor off. they use a solid line into the caliper that is bolted to the knuckle, so be careful not to kink it. you can unbolt the line for more slack about halfway up the back of the knuckle if i remember correctly. good luck.
