Default Front seat headrests are on backward and won't come off...

So the previous owner of my'97 A4apparently took the headrests off the front seats and then replaced them facing the wrong direction. For some reason in this position the release mechanism doesn't seem to work, and I can't get them back off to turn them around. Any suggestions?

You just found a good excuse to buy some RS4 seats or something else nice[sm=bounceybounce.gif]

I posted this in two spots here; under General Tech and also under the A4 section. Someone in the thread under A4 section suggested using some sort of fine tool and shove it in next to the head rest post and try getting it to release by pushing the lock mechanism out of the way. I think I might try that and see what happens. I WISH I could just go buy some RS4 seats, but I'm on a budget and therefore have to prioritize - which means I'd rather spend the cash on a new exhaust and still have goofy head rests. But to be honest, "new seats!" was my first thought.

lol I could certainly do that. At the rate I'm currently making payments on it that'd only be... like 18 months to pay off. No problem; I'll just not eat - I need to lose weight anyhow!
