Default Fuel Level Gauge Inaccuracy

I know this seems to be an issue with most cars, and Audis are no exception. Once the fuel gauge gets to the half tank mark why does it move faster? I know I don't drive any more aggresively during the second half tank of fuel, so I'm guessing the problem lies within either the gauge or the fuel level sending unit.

What causes this? and is there any way to fix it?

It could be your imagination, or it could be a faulty fuel sender. There are 3 senders in the tank, the best way to test if one of them is bad is to run the tank as low as it will go. If it runs out of gas before hitting E, then there is a bad sender. If not, its probably nothing.

Good idea. I may have to try that.
