h&r springs

thinking of getting H&R sport springs for '05 audi a4 1.8t special edition. can anyone help me with this? is it ok if i just get the springs? is it necessary for me to change the struts or shocks?

Sport springs will stiffen the ride. You don't need to swap out the shocks.
If you want a little stiffer ride, you'll do well with just the spring upgrade. Bear in mind... the height will change slightly, too.

Typically I'd say that you have to change out the shocks at the same time. On older cars if you add lowered springs it will cause extra stress on the shocks and they will wear out in 6 months or so. But your car is brand new so I would think it would be able to handle the extra stress for awhile.

it is said after 30k u start to lose the performance of the shock. if u have ever replaced them and ran them from new to past this mileage u will see. id have to agree with jest in that most cases it will seem your shocks will tend to comp wear out in no time and theres no point not to change your shocks when ur in there all ready. if u want some great prices go to hopupracing.com
