Red face Help!!!!!!

Audi A4 1.8T Quattro 2004
just had fuel pump replaced now when initially starting car it makes a buzzing whinning sound when turn over the ignition but goes away after I am done turning the key. Could this be because a fuel filter for the non quattro was used on a quattro- I looked up part numbers and the fuel filter says it is for a non quattro car. Please help?

Really, you want to blame a fuel filter for being able to hear a working fuel pump?

Lol, I am teasing but sincere.

I think there is a good chance you are hearing it because its working.

If you sit in the same car at the dealer... and turn the key on... can you hear the fuel pump pressure up?

I think you will.

Best regards.

Actually yes,
It was sounding like the car was starving for fuel when I turned the ignition, but as soon as it started then no noise from fuel pump area and no loud buzzing. I checked the garage invoice/bill and noted that the part they put in was a fuel filter for a NON Quattro. I returned it to the garage- they replaced it with the correct filter and now no noise at all and no problems starting

quattro all same but a j at the end.
I learn new stuff everyday. This is a great site.
