I got the front H&R ultra coilovers installed today on my '00 s4. Theres about a finger gap, and I run 18's. The back hasn't been installed yet, so there's a bit of a rake. I took it for a ride and driving down the road I would hear popping noises, almost like packing peanuts popping. It did not change when I turned the wheel, and I checked for rubbing, which there was none of. I was not traveling at a high rate of speed either. Any ideas what it could be? Will it be safe to drive on?

 

Did you do it or have a shop do it?

Sounds like the top nut from the shock to the spring plate. Or the strut assembly to the body is loose.
