I just got a pioneer head unit .its a 4 x 50w (22rms) 2.2v and it works good but when i put up the volume on it..before it even gets loud it stops playing music but it still shows that the track is playing..it shows the time on the radio...also at any volume, if i have my lights off and i turn them on it does it too..but if u turn it on with the lights on it works..i am wondering what is wrong? is the oem amp to weak?? or what?!!!

 

Im having trouble understanding what your complaint is. Are you saying that no matter what you have on (or off) the sound will cut out after reaching a certain volumn? That sounds like a head unit problem to me. Who installed it?

 

I installed it..but everything is right..all the wires are right..i am sure..I think i found the problem..the amp might be too weak..the head unit is 4 x 50w (22rms) and the little stock amp is 2 x 20w lol how cute i think its over heating and stops

 

That could be it yeah, if the amp overheats it would engage the saftey shut off until it cools back down. Once it cools it would work again.
Maybe upgrade to an Alpine 4 channel amp or something.
