manual trans? sounds like a linkage issue. Or a shift gate issue internally on the trans.

Can you select the gears with the engine off?

Check the oil level in the transmission. It could be low.

The clutch is working normally?

I'd get it back to them and have them check it. But if the clutch is "sticking" that could also cause the issue. It may just need a fluid flush on the hydraulics. If the clutch is "slipping", that would indicate an actual clutch problem. This sounds more like a clutch master/slave cylinder issue. MUCH cheaper to fix..
