my 98 a6 quattro has started to make a loud groaning noise when turning the steering wheel at low speeds, especially to the left, like when getting out of aparking space- especially when engine first turned on. outer tie rod end replaced but groaning continues. what do i do now? also if anyone knows out there, why are my doors so hard to open now, even have to repeatedly jank on the trunkas well. heard it might be the rubber seal?????

 

have you checked your power steering fluid level?

 

it may be a failing power steering pump or ailing steering rack, before you replace any of these expensive items try to flush the power steering fluid with audi approved power steering fluid, yes there is a difference and the wrong stuff can cause problems.
