Default I don't know how fast I'm going...

I drive a 1996 V6 quattro A4. I've had this car for a few years now and I'm still happy with it. It's never let me down. Until now.

I do most of my driving in the dark, as I work shifts and long hours. About six months ago, one of the bulbs behind the speedo display stopped working. At the time, I could still see the detail so didn't worry too much about it. Over the last month, the other two bulbs have both gone.

What do I need to do to replace these bulbs? Is this a ridiculous job or are there any easy methods of access?

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

The only way is to remove the instrument cluster and change the bulb.
I forgot the bulb size but it should not be hard to find.
The bulb is just held in place with a socket so very easy to replace once you remove the instrument panel.

I can't say if it is easy since I have not done that in an Audi.
It is pretty simple on the Honda and Toyota.

Hope that helps.

take the cover on top of the steering wheel off, it pops right out, 2 philips screws and then the whole cluster come out, disconnect the wiring and replace the bulbs, you can only get the bulbs at audi or VW, im pretty sure their cheaper at VW i got mine from audi and were something $4 each.
