So i plan on buying another A4, but the info display on the dash goes on and off. The guys said it would $90 to get a new one, but what i wanted to know is how hard would it be to install it? Or how much would it be to install it. Its a 2000 a4 btw. Any info will help, tanks guys.

 

Sorry I can't offer any help, but I will be following this thread. My info-display went out last night on my 1998 A6. The only part of the display still operational, is the top section that displays stuff like low washer fluid, or headlight out.

 

yeah, well is there anything really important on teh info display other than miles?

 

A warning alarm came up but I couldnt read it.....looked under the hood and my coolant was low. Other alarms would be nice to know without checking everything to find out what I cant see on the display.

 

i actually have the same problem on the A4 I am in the process of buying, works when its cold.
for anyone who isnt a complete car moron it should very well be incredibly EASY.
if you are offended by that, it should be considered the criteria of disqualification for your DIY and you must have it done by a professional.
search around the forums here, a4.org might have a tutorial too
