Default INGNITION CONTROL MODULE?????

I have a 98 A4 1.8T QM, one of my cylinders was not firing and this place told me the Ignition Control Module was broke. Its a small piece on top of the air intake box. Has anyone else had any experience with this problem or part??

Thanks
David

Go to AutoZone, have them scan for codes. If cylinder 2 is missfiring it might be
caused by the ignition control module.

They do have prblems but how did they come to the conclusion of the icm. Many things can cause a misfire condition. Just a couple questions

1. Was the cel falshing?
2. Did they check your plugs and wires for arching and what not?

ICM are not cheap just be sure to verify
