lifter noise

yha im getting some valve/lifter noise.. am I screwed. Don't Audi have hydralic lifters. which means its time for a new head... or can I adjust them back to normal.

It may not need an entire head. You may just have a lifter that has bleed down and wont pump back up. If thats the case you would only need a new lifter. Pinpointing the exact lifter can be difficult. Youll need an automotive stethoscope to listen for exactgly where the noise is coming from. Then pull the vavlecover and inspect the lifters and head for damage. If the head isnt damaged, replace the lifter.

you cant adjust them, when did you do an oil and filter change?? what oil are you using??

Just new lifters. its easy to check them, all you need is wide screw driver and a like a blade or something to measure the size between the lifter and camshaft.

oh using new oil and or lower viscocity and synthetic.
