Locking Issues

Default Locking Issues

my buttons on my remote for my audi a4 wont lock or unlock car. it has fresh batteries and it also wont manually unlock or lock door either. it wont even turn. also when ur in the car the unlock button sounds like its working but the lock button on driver and passanger side will not do anything.

It sounds like you lock actuator is bad.

I have the same issue....in the trunk or boot lol on the passenger side you have to move the box and the side panel under this foam sound padding and all you will see a box with vac lines and wires and plugs going to it.....this is the locking device and if you hit your button like I did and run to the trunk you will hear it cut on but nada...so it is bad....hope this helps out

thanks guys. i will have to check into that. sounds better then changing partd that may not b broken like a local shop wants to do lol. this is the first car ivr had where i cant seem to to fix much myself haha! almost makes me miss my honda...almost.

they want to replace door cylinder which is five hundred bucks. i feel like i shud take off the panel and see if it looks corroded or anything. i feel like the door lock its self wouldnt bcausing the button failure and the whole key fab problem but idk.

i pulled the carpet out. the only thing in there is the alarm module. a small black device is this the same thing? or am i completely missing something else in there?

I get my Audi out of the shop tomorrow and will take pics for you of mine when I get off work....
