Need general instructions to replace a '02 A6 3.0L engine assy
Hi,
Yesterday, an auto shop identified that my camshaft is locked up and damaged on the passenger side head beyond repairs. He mentioned that it was probably caused by low oil pressure and the fact the oil filter was so damn tight when I purchased it in July '10 - it didn't appear that it was changed out in 4 - 6 oil changes.
However, to make a long story short, can anyone provide any guidance or where I may find a manual to replace the engine assembly on a A6 3.0L AVK engine?? I already have both heads removed, so half the task is almost completed.
I'm assuming that I need to reinstall with the transmission assembled on the new engine. (New engine is actually an used one with 75K miles from Pam's Auto - Ebay with 120 day warranty - i have the parts to replace timing belt, tstat, water pump, etc. . .) However, it appears to be a very tight fit to get the engine mounts and exhaust bolts re-installed properly with the full engine assembly.
Also, I have 3 -intake/ 4 - exhaust valves with valve seals for sell along with head gaskets if the used engine works out...
Thanks,
Jim
