Need Your Help! Looking for a correct part Audi A8L Pics Attached!

I am looking for the center control knob for my 2004 Audi A8L. I searched and searched and ordered a the knob from OEM Plus, but the knob I got doesn't fit! (Oem Plus was great about the whole process, and it's not their fault; the part the sent me is the only part # for my car)! Anyway, I have attached 5 pictures: Any help would be appreciated. The dealer wants $110.00 plus tax.
Thank you in advance!!!!

Please click the small thumbnails for full size pictures! The part # is the part OEM Plus sent me that does not fit

I will give it a shot tomorrow, OEMPlus, wrote me an email and might have something for me! I never knew how much of a pain getting this knob would be! If I was un-ethical, I would test drive or look at a used A8L and steal one, leave $50.00 on the dash!!! but Karma is a bitch and that's not how I roll homie. :D

No body named Aaron works their & the guy acted like he didn't want to help me. He said he would not sell the knob separately, it would be the whole assembly. I guess to the dealer I go :(

Can anyone please help :(

modify it?

Not to sound crude.....but can't you save yourself a lot of trouble and MAKE the new knob fit tighter? ie....a wrap of good tape on the shaft?? or some other simple fix?.

I don't think it will grab the metal post hard enough. The post is very hard to turn with your fingers

As far as i know you can't get those parts seperately from the dealer, you have to buy the whole MMI unit which costs a whopping $800+
Sorry i can't be of more help :(

Ran into this a couple months back. Customer broke the knob off the MMI and only option is a new MMI. What are the chances of finding a wrecked one in a scrapyard you could get the knob from? Probably slim, but you never know. Not 100% positive but, I would think any model with the MMI should have the same knob, or am I totally off on that one?

Well, the actual knob sounds like a costly problem that you don't want to spend money for - and quite frankly, neither would I. How could a knob cost $110? So, how about machining a bushing out of plastic or how about going to your local home improvement store or auto store and finding a bushing that will fit - but putting a dab of strong adhesive on the stud that sticks out of the MMI? (Using a bushing to make the knob you have fit the post).. Just coming up with alternatives to $$$.
