Curious if anyone has heard of this? No mods on My A3 only have 7000 miles on it[:@]. Dealer just keeps replacing.
Another weird thing... the ignition area gets scorching hot as does the key. Any Ideas?

 

Yeah theres a bunch of bad compressors out there. Theres also a tech bullitin explaining which ones are bad and which ones are good. Of course audi never discontinued the bad compressor, so the parts guys can pick either the bad one or the good one from the catolouge. Not really sure what the deal is with the ignition. Is the light for the ingition not going out maybe?

 

sounds very dodgy to me ( Dealer just keeps replacing the component ) not a good way to do things and ignition over heating sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, its time to take it back for a full safety test "fires kill" and the ignition is a potential killer in overheated state
