Default Yet another warning symbol issue!

Hello folks.

Audi A6 2.7T 2000/01.

I've had a warning symbol flash up on my dashboard which looks like the brake symbol, as in (O), but inside the smaller circle is an X, like a lights out symbol.

I've checked my brake lights [:@](duh) and they work.

I'd really appreciate any help you could give me on this.

Thanks

check your brake pad wear. Also on the front brakes, there is a sensor wire. When the brake wears down enough, the wire detaches from the brake causing the circuit to brake and the light to come on. Mine did the same and the brakes still had alot of wear left. So, I spliced together the wires and the light went away

I had the same brake icon (O) at 101k. I brought the car into my indie and he verified it needed new brake pads. Fortunately nothing was badly warn and he was able to turn front and rear rotors. He had just checked them (visually) about 4k prior but I drove two long vacation trips with a lot of high speed braking and construction zone braking.

Anyway, don't just ignore the warning and figure everything is ok. Get it checked out.
