Default Newb needs help

I have a 2002 A4 1.8T w/sport package. I just purchased this car and it is awesome. I notice that when im stopped at a red light i notice a bit of a lag or hesitation when i go. Its only for 1 or 2 seconds after i step on the gas. It gets going after that. It runs great, no problems with engine or transmission. I have heard that with the turbo you tend to get a bit of a lag. Not sure if this is true or not. Can anybody let me know what i should do if there is something wrong. I do know that there was a recall on the ignition coils but this was already taken care of by Audi Dealership. Any info would really help. Thanks

turbo lag is at higher RPMs your problem could be throttle body needs cleaning or a vacuum line is bad but without any fault codes its just a guess so its probably down to maintenance of the intake and its components ( or bad fuel filter ) the list is endless

Would you think it is a good idea to let be as is and wait until a check engine lite comes on or what. Also is it expensive to do these type of repairs: Throttle body cleaning, vacume line, intake maintenance, fuel filter replacement. I have a mechanic that services my Lincoln LS and my Honda Civic, should i let hime try and fix some of these problems or is it better to go to Audi dealer. Im new to this type of car and not sure what i should do. Thanks..
