I just got a 2004 1.8t, and am wondering about the gas type. I have been using 91 octaine but I'm wondering if 89 would work just fine... There is a gas station near my house that sells 89 for the price of 87. Any thoughts?

 

Don't use anything under 91 - you have a turbo and need the detonation resistance. The car is tuned for 91 or higher. And using 89 will save you $1.60 a tank. The car won't run well on less than premium and will be a lot worse than can be justified by saving that money.
