Can anyone help me I have 1997 Audi A4 and today the odometer just went out it doent light up anymore but if you look real close you can read it. Does anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it?

 

What are you saying exactly, that the background lighting isn't working and the gauge still works?

 

Yes just the back lighting doesnt work how do i fix it?

 

Good question. Go over the basics first, check fuses, remove the instrument cluster and check for loose wires. If that comes up with nothing it sounds like the cluster is toast. I haven't see that before, only on newer ones that were coded wrong changing the background lighting setting.
