Hey guys... Got a new 2.0t and I just want to confirm 0w-40 castral edge is okay for my oil change as opposed to 5w-40 as its harder to get and the 0w-40 is ok it does carry a 502 and I believe a 504.00 spec as well.just wanted another opinion on this as I'm new to euro cars. Am also seeing colder temps now and was thinking that may be the better option for that reason as well...thanks in advance... Few more questions about mods as well if anyone cares to help out..thanks in advance

 

I've never seen 0w-40 stocked in the regular places... I've used 5w and 10w-30 in my two Audi's (03 A8L, 87 5000SQ) for years. Never had an issue. I do hear that some recommend not using synthetic but I've used both with no apparent issues.

You can use 0w-40 or 5w-30 as long as the oil meets the VW502 specification.
