Default oil in egr valve audi A6 19tdi 2003

hi all,

Ive got oil in the egr valve so I went to buy a new one but upon fixing it in was told that I may have a problem with the turbo... anyone got any ideas? all the intercooler pipes have oil in them. I have cleaned out the egr valve and the intercooler pipes before but the oil has returned and can smell it in the car. Thanks in advance for your feedback

p.s. I dont have any black smoke coming out of the exhaust

Time to remove the intake & give it a good cleaning. Once the egr is removed you will see all the crud built up in the intake.

Ive cleaned the intake before but the oil has returned and can smell it in the cabin. I was going to change the egr valve but have been told that that wouldnt cause the oil to appear so not to change it as the oil would come back and that the turbo is prob on its way out so now im a bit confused as to what to do.....

Pull off the air intake hose going into the turbo. See if there is a lot of oily residue , check for play in the impeller. If it moves up & down it is probably time.
Most turbo's i have replaced are at anywhere from 100k to 140k miles.
One of the problems i believe is that most people do not use the approved oil for these vehicles.

Ive got full audi service history so i would presume theyve used the correct oil. Do you have any idea What and where is the pcv valve? Ive now been told that if this pcv valve blocks up i will get oil in the egr valve.... make any sense??
