I'll try to make this as short as possible, I cracked the oil pan on my 03 b6 quattro 1.8t and replaced it and everything is mint no leaks and is performing as it was before it cracked no problems the only thing is the red oil can that says oil came on 10 minutes after driving the car. I checked everything made sure there was no leaks and the oil is at the correct level as like I said the car is running very good and responding well just curious of what the oil light would come on for.. maybe the oil level sensor got messed up when I cracked the pan ?

 

Could be. You could disconnect it and see if the light goes off. I think it's a simple contact switch.
