OIL PROBLEMS
 

I own a 1996 audi a4 2.8 quattro and i do have a oil leak and im getting to the valve gaskets soon before it gets to wet to do but i just did an oil change 2k ago and i just noticed it says O1L under my odemeter and i looked in my owners manual and im assuiming it means oil service or change soon or do i need to just add enough cause i already added enough oil to be a lil above the middle of the dipstick !!! if you can directly email my phone at johnferro@tmail.com with some help cause my fone is slow on going to yahoo email thx !!!!

It only means, that you didn't reset the service reminder when you did an oil change.
It has nothing to do with the level of the oil.

edit: just looked it up and the 1996 requires a reset tool, the above is for later cars
