Default oil question

I have a 02 A6 3.0 and I have no oil pressure and when i check the dipstick it reads nothing. I am about ready for a oil change. My question is : I use synthetic oil and I need to put some in in order to get to the garage, my friend said to put in regular oil. I thought that once you go synthetic you can never go back. I would be getting a oil change as soon as i get to the garage. What should i do?

First of all. Dont drive, or even start the car until you can get the car up to the correct level.

If you're going to have the oil changed soon, buy some cheap stuff from where ever, and 10w30 is the way to go.(or use whatever you have around the house)
You'll need at least 2 quarts. enouh to fill it till it reads on the stick, and 1 quart to fill it if it's on the lowest line.
You can mix conventional oil with Synthetic...no problem.

This will keep you engine happy until you get the oil changed.
With your next change, you can stick with Synthetic.

There is a thread in the Audi Formus oil section called "Facts about oil sludge". I believe this relates to your question and I thought it could be helpful.
