Bought a 2009 S3 . Took in to a private machi for general service . The battery was dead when I went to collect so the machi jumped it , I left tried putting on the radio and " invalid type" popped up on the display . Audi dealership said they have never seen that before , so I went to a private mechanic again plug in the obd to source the fault now I have no radio and my driver side window not opening

I don't think those two concerns are related.... if the battery dies you may need the radio code again do you have that? may be with your owners manual. Window wise, when you try to roll it down your getting nothing at all?

Its not asking for a code. Just displaying ' invalid type ' and window was working just fine until computer was plugged in to try restore radio

Pull the terminals off the battery and let everything reset.. Leave them disconnected for a couple of hours to be sure. Then connect it back up and see what happens.

I'd start checking fuses. It also sounds like the mechanic that jump started the car may have accidentally hooked it up backward. This can damage some of the electrics on cars these days. I'd take it to a reputable German car shop (not the stealer.....er.. dealer).
