I have an '02 A6. My symphony radio will play for 1 hour if I turn the car off. I have to shut it down manually. Which is annoying. The real issue is that if I'm driving the car it will still turn off in 1 hour. I talked to a guy at the dealership and he said it should stay on for 1/2 hour and then shut off. Do you think I need a new radio or is there a way to reset this thing? I have tried taking off the battery cable, removing the fuse and unplugging the radio. I still have this problem.

 

no it shouldn't stayed powered on if you turn the key off. not for one hour, not for half an hour.

the newer models you have to remove the key... but an 02 is supposed to turn off when you turn the car off.

 

should I just replace the radio?

 

i'm not too sure. Never really encountered this issue.
