Please let me know. I have to change my turbos. I have the tubos in hand to replace the old ones. Scared to go to the dealer. Anyone have an idea what the cost for this repair is. And if Anyone nows someone that can do the job in the New Jersey area let me know.

Yep, on the A6 is 28.5 hours of labor. At an average dealer wage of $100-$120 an hour your looking at
$2860-$3432 just in labor depending on where you are in the country.

absolutely NOT! They take longer to do than 30 hours usually, which means i lose money.

 

Yes they suck to change but with some tricks and custom welding of tool you can do it pretty easy. If you have done enough you learn the tricks.

 

How can you be sure that welding will solve every type of turbo problem? What is the cost of the parts?

 

Not welding the turbo but welding brackets to align and hold the engine.
