Default Reset engine settings

I have done a search and can't seem to find what I am looking for. I remember reading about how you can reset the driving attributes of my car. I have a 2008 A4 2.0T.

It was something like turn the key to position 1 and hold down the gas pedal for 10 seconds. Release and remove key.

I know this should vague, but does anyone know what I am talking about?

Well what you're talking about is resetting the throttle body setting/position, is that what you want to do? What exactly are you trying to do and why exactly?

I could think of one reason: the battery is completely dead and after a new is put in place the car runs like crap.

My partner drives like a old granny (sorry any grandmas that may be reading this). But then I get in the car and the throttle response just isn't quite what I need for my "spirited driving"
