well i dont think its a big deal butt my brother noted it to me last time

my right side mirror is turning brown
dont know how and why but i cannot clean it, it looks like if its behind the mirror where the thing on the back is holding it its like in the middle lol
and that thing is just getting bigger

is there anything i can buy to clean it somehow or do i have to buy the whole sidemirror ?

 

That is the lcd portion of the autodimming feature failing. You will need to replace the mirror glass.

 

Same happened with mine. Brown stuff is about an inch thick around the whole mirror. ;-)

This is common for lots of cars, especially Audi/ VW. The glass has a coating on the back to make it a mirror, and this coating is coming off. One cause is snow in the winter sits on the glass. Some places sell a mirror you can glue on top of the old one, cheaper than buying the whole mirror assembly.

 

the thing is that its a nice color and i dont want to ruin it, wince when the sun hits it and at night it turns blueish

 

its just a mirror glassinsert... you do not have to replace the whole assembly
