S8- Fuel cutting-out problem
 

Hi- Has anybody had the annoying problem of fuel "running-out" when there is still over 3/4s of a tank left!!?? I have an S8, year 2000 model.

After around 200Kms the car will cough and splutter to a stop.

If I keep the fuel topped up before 150-200Kms then no problem!!!

The fuel guage reads ok

I have had the fuel pump repalced, but this did not solve the problem.

Is there a hose that feeds fuel from the tank into the pump?? My idea was that if this was broken, then this might explain why after 200kms, I have drained fuel to the depth of the pump, and thus can not suck any more fuel??

Help please ....
