Default self levelling headlights on S3

Just had a problem of being flashed due to poor headlight alignment. Checked and found the rear sensor had broken one of the ball joints and was hanging down making the car think the back was high hence raising the headlights. I was quoted £135.00 for the part only. Felt this a little expensive!!! given if I add labour it will probably be £200.00 or thereabouts. Visited Anglia Hose & Hydraulics who kindly spent at least a quarter of an hour resolving the problem by making up a threaded rod with two metal ball joints at the ends. A total of £15.51. Fitting was simple once wheel was off.
Moral is there are more ways to skin a cat than paying audi prices!!

Plus you can get them at other online parts sites. I've got one going bad on my A8. They arms actuation arms are fine but I suspect one of the sensors is bad since I have warning light on my dash. The sensors are running about $85USD on several parts places online.
