Hello All, my wife's '08 A6 Service due comes on when she starts the car and then goes off in a second or two. The oil was changed less than 2k miles ago although that was more than a year ago. I should mention that it's a '08 with only 44k miles on it.

How do I reset?

If your car is like my 2013,a scan tool is needed for a service reset. For oil change only,a reset can be done using the dash *****,but the procedure is described so confusingly that I have not been able to make it work. Also,the owner's manual says that a battery disconnect will zero the display,then later says that the service interval values are retained. I think that my manual was translated from German to English by someone who was not a native speaker in either language.


If you have an owner's manual,look up "Service interval display" in the index and see what the reset procedures are.

 

Yeah. They make'em to where you have to reset them with the VAG COM enabled tools via the OBD port.
