Synthetic Oil lasts less than 10,000mi?
Hello all, very nice to have a reason not to lurk. My question is a general one that perhaps any mechanic could answer, but I do not have one who knows Audis within grasp at the moment. So! First, the basic info...
2002 A6 3.0 Quattro, "Adolph"
77 grand and change mileage
Acquired in April, no mech issues thus far.
I recently received a synthetic oil change, the first I've ever done. I was told it would last 10,000 miles. Today, coming up the driveway, I have an "Oil Level Min" indicator light. I am only about 7,000mi into this oil change. Now, is this to be expected? Do I top it off and wait 'til 10,000mi, or should I have it looked at? Or, possibly, could there be a mechanical issue that is causing the car to consume oil at a rapid rate that should be looked into?
I appreciate your time and your information.
