Tools Needed for Replacing A3 Rear Brake Rotors & Pads

What special tools are needed to remove and replace the rear rotors and pads on an A3, type of sockets, tools etc..
Also whats needed to replace the fronts also.
Thanks

I did this recently on my 2013 A3. The front isn't bad,but certain bolts shouldn't be reused and torque figures vary depending year, etc. Ditto for the rear, but a triple square driver is needed (maybe 12 mm,maybe 14 mm) and screwing the pistons back is easier with the correct tool and the disconnection of the parking brake cables. Resetting the parking brake varies with year, etc. Removing the 2 bolts that require the TSD is a bitch. An impact wrench will make things easier. You should talk to ECS Tuning to find out what your year needs (and 2 types of rear brakes were used,Bosch and another).

The engineers who designed my A3 obviously never expected an owner to want to work on it. You really need to do some homework first if you want the job to proceed smoothly. Good luck.
