I've beengiven two opposing views on whether I need to change the transmission fluid in my 2003 1.8 A4 Avant Quattro with 75,000 miles (1) do it immediately before you foul up your transmission, and (2) its a big scam and don't worry about it unless you know you have overheated the car and/or transmission fluid.

The local shop wants $250 for aflush and changeof fluid & filiter. What say you?

 

well audi sayd its filled for life, but when i my a4 hit 150k the synchro started grinding and the shifts where notchy i replace the tranny fluid with gm synchromesh every 10-20k miles since 50k and its been amazing it feels like a new tranny. just my 2 cents.
