transmission question, interchangeability

I have a 01 A8 with the 4.2 with a slipping transmission and i have just found a transmission on craigslist and it says its from a 2001 AWD 2.8 Im new to Audi and does anyone know if this would work on my Audi?

It may work but you have to make sure it has the same three letter code as is on your a8 cause if not it will not work.
