I have a 06 A8 coming, I only had domestic cars up to this point and want to know if you experienced Audi owners only use 92 Octane in your cars or not. From your experiences does it make a difference to the audi's performance or how the car runs at all?

Yep, the car will run on lower octane gas (at least, the A4 will), but the car will have to compensate for the lower octane, and it's likely that you'll lose some fuel economy and power. For the $2 you save per tankful, it's not really a worthwhile tradeoff in my mind.

 

run the highest, although im surprised that my car says premium recommended but says to use 87octane using the (R+M)/2 method.
