Unknown Indicator light started blinking
 

Hello all,
I have a 1995 A6 and it's been running fine since I bought it, but the other night while driving into town, a green indicator light started turning on and off. Usually lasting only a second or 2 before going back off. I looked through my owner's manual, but that one symbol is the only one that isn't explained anywhere. It's located in the group of lights above the clock and oil temp gauge and it looks like 2 lights shining in opposite directions. It's 2 oblong shapes with 3 horizontal slashes on each end and it's green. I can't figure it out nor can I find anything on the net. Any ideas before I try to call the shop tomorrow?

That's your parking-light indicator. It should be on any/every time your parking lights come on. As in: when you turn your headlights on the parking lights come on one click prior to that. So, in other words, you should see it at night, unless you drive arouund during the day with your headlights on. If it on and off intermittently, then either your parking light circuit OR the circuit for the indicator light is malfunctioning...
