Warm/hot start problem
Hi guys,
Having a problem with starting my car when its WARM - doesn't seem to be a problem when its either cold or hot, just in between. So far its mainly been when its done reletively short trips and been left sitting for 15-60 mins (but today was left for 3 and 1/2 hours in a closed multistorey and had the same problem). It's a 52 plate 1.8 petrol A3. It has around 110,000 miles on the clock but has been well looked after. After reading threads etc, have changed the engine temp sensor, but have still had the same problem. Have plugged it in and there is no recorded error codes, so seems not to be saving any problems. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks, Dave. |

I have an 01 plate 2.0 auto petrol A4 with about the same mileage and exactly the same problem! Really getting frustrated with it now! Thanks, Ben. |
Try checking the coolant temperature sender

I changed that first as has Dave above, still the same! What a pain! Ben |
Hi Ben. I did get it fixed yes, turned out to be the crankshaft sensor, cost me about £100 all together which included code reading it, the sensor and fitting it! Good luck and hope this fixes your problem!
