Weird Wiring Problems?
I have a 2007 Audi A4 Quatro 6 speed manual Avant 2.0T. I originally had this problem early this year. What happens is that randomly the traction control light and the EPC light come on along with the check engine light. When this happens the cruise and turbo don't work. I'm assuming the traction control doesn't work either, but I don't drive crazy enough to know for sure. This problem will occur anywhere from a few minutes to several days and then back to normal for an equally random amount of time.
My dealership has no clue what to do with this problem. The computer doesn't give any codes for this problem at all. The first time I took the car in they replaced the throttle control module. This didn't work, so they thought they would replace the entire throttle body. Audi stopped them, and told them to replace the wiring. I don't know what all of the wiring was replaced, but this seemed to fix the problem at the time.
Now several months later the exact same problem is occurring again. Unfortunately I'm back to square one with the dealership. There are still no codes to look at, and the mechanic that worked on the car the first time is not there anymore. The current plan is that the dealership is going to inspect the wiring, but without an idea of what they're looking for I'm afraid that they aren't going to find the root of the problem.
All help will be much appreciated.
