What things should I do?

I just got a Audi on trade, it's a 1998 A6 Quattro. The car has the 2.8L motor with 194,500 miles and is a Automatic, and I am not sure when the timing belt was replaced. Oil was done already. I am wondering what maintenance I should do, or if it is fine and just let the car do its thing. I technically got the car for only $40 with my flipping vehicles in the last 3 months, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do the timing belt with the tensioner and idler along with the water pump and thermostat since you don't know the history on the current belt. Also I recommend to do the front camshaft seals and front crankshaft seal while you're in there to save you headaches and the labor to reopen the front of the engine later on. Also you may want to check your crank case breather system (PCV system on our cars) since they get clogged and cause oil leaks as the car gets up there on miles. Again I'm going to stress on the timing belt cuz if your belt breaks you're better off just tossing the car since its going to cause bent valves and all sorts of internal damage. Good luck and welcome to the Audi world :)

P.S. be careful with the crank case breather hoses when touching them because the plastic gets very brittle with age and if they are original they can get so crispy that just by looking at them they break ( not really but you get my point lol :) ) been there done that!
