Default What would cause this?

I had a post earlier regarding hesitation, but have noticed something else.

When the car sits for more then 6 hours or the next morning go to start the car...it won't turn over right away. You have to continue starting while giving it gas. You can smell the fuel obviously, and there is a rough sound coming from the exhaust. As soon as you can turn it over and finally get the rpm's to rise...I try and hold the rpm's at above 1500rpm's for about 30 seconds...after that the "rough" sound coming from the exhaust goes away and the only thing I can hear are the turbos spooling up.

Any ideas what would cause my car to have difficulty starting/receiving enough fuel? My fuel filter has been replaced. My fuel pump is working fine. Just replaced the air filter and MAF.

As long as the engine hasn't sat for more then 4 hours, I can get in-turn the key-and start right up...yes a little rpm drop once in awhile...but not a complete stall. I do think I have a vaccum/boost leak which is causing loss in power at speed. Just not sure what could be causing the problem when first starting the car.

And yes, my vag-com is on order...

Thanks,

A6B
